Dear Student,

● JJ Thomson's atomic model -

  • aka plum pudding model of atom
  • Thomson stated that the atom is a sphere of positive charge, and negatively charged electrons are embedded in it to balance the total positive charge.

● Thomson's Cathode ray experiment -

  • Thomson bombarded atoms with cathode rays to know structure of atom.
  • The particles in the gas were attracted to positive plate.
  • Thus they must be negatively charged. Thomson named them electrons.
  • From this he concluded that cathode rays were made up of negative charged particles.

Hope this helps you..
