In this experiment, you can use a liquid that evaporates very fast like methylated spirit.
Take petri dishes of different sizes, like 100 mm × 15 mm and 60 mm × 15 mm.
Measure equal volumes of methylated spirit, say 10ml, and pour into each petri dish simultaneously.
Note the time taken for the methylate spirit in each petri dish to evaporate.
Observation:
You will notice that the methylated spirit in the larger petri dish will evaporate faster showing that rate of evaporation depends on surface area.
