champaran is a place in bihar. champaran and darbhanga both are famous for their movement which forced Gandhi ji to pause non-cooperation movement.

this movement was done by farmerof indigo plants. It is a plant from which blue dye is extracted and it was in great demand in Britain.
so plantations absorbed farmed to grow indigo but problem was that the farmers who grow independently were lived heavy taxes. and we're forced to sell their yield at low rate
