the French society divided in three estate:-
✴ first estate (clergy) :- member of this is state had vast land and wealth .they were exempted from pain text and enjoy certain privilege by birth.
✴ second estate(noblity):-member of this is paid also enjoyed privileges by birth and exempted from paying taxes. they enjoyed fedual privilege such as extraction of feudal dues from peasants.
✴third estate:- the rest of the population constituted the third estate (Businessman, merchants, lawyers, landless labour and servants etc.) member of this estate had very few privileges and had to pay taxes .peasants important part of this estate who constituted about 90% population only a few of them owned land 60% of land by peasants was owned by nobles and rich members of third estate this served Lords in army and in construction work.
