people of bastar speak different languages but share common customs & beliefs. they believe that each village was given its land by the earth and in return , they look after the earth by making some offsprings at each agricultural festival . they show respect to the spirits of the rivers, forest and mountain.

there are different types of tribes resides in the bastar such as maria, gonds, dhurwas, batras, halbas.
