Gaddi Shepherds are the nomadic people of Himachal Pradesh. In winter, they reside with their flocks of animals in the lower range of Shivalik Hills so that the animals can get foods in the adjacent forests.

They move upwards to Lahaul and Spiti districts in April, for spending their summers there.

Sometimes, they move even higher to the passes that are free of snow in summer, revealing lots of greenery there.

However, by September, they again start moving down to spend their winters in the valleys of Shivalik Hills.
