Describe the friendship between the narrator and his grandmother

Both grandmother and khushwant singh, when they were in the village were very close to each other. Khushwant singh’s parents had gone to the city and they left him with grandmother up in the vilage. She used to wake him up in the mornings and help him to get ready for the school. She used to sing a morning prayer while she bath and dress the narrator for the school in the hope that he would learn the prayer after that Khushwant singh used to have breakfast, a stale of chapattis with a little sugar and butter spread on it then they go to school together while leaving for school from home grandmother took several stale of chapattis with her for village’s dogs. She always accompanied with Khushwant singh to the school because it was attached with the temple. Khushwant singh used to study in his class while grandmother used to read the scriptures. After finishing school both returns back together. And grandmother feed the village dogs on the way back to home.
