hey mate here is your answer: generally iron remains in carbonate ore or sulphide ore.

when it is in sulphide ore then roasting process is followed and when it is in carbonate ore it is calcinated to get iron oxide

from poise ore it is easy to get the required metals or minerals.
it is then reduce to iron by using a reducing agents like coke.
hope it helps you

Hi.

Here is your answer--------

For the process of extraction of iron, the following points are practiced-------

1= Physical process--------

@--- Pulverization----- First step in extraction is pulverization,i.e., the crushing and grinding of Hematite to make it in powered form.

@--- Dressing ( or concentration)of Hematite----- After the pulverization, the hematite is concentrated by removing the gangue(earthly impurities) through the process of MAGNETIC SEPARATION( since iron has a magnetic properties).

2 = Chemical process-----

After the physical process, chemical process has been done.In this process,
a Blast Furnace is taken, which has three zone----
Upper zone
Middle zone
Lower zone

From the upper zone hematite,coke, quicklime is put and from the lower zone hot air is inserted.
A number of reaction occurs in all three zones, they are-----
   Upper zone----- C + O2 -------------------- CO2

Middle zone----- CO2 + C ----------------------- 2CO
                          CO2 + CaO ------------------ CaCO3

Lower zone-------- Fe2O3 + 3CO ------------------- 2Fe + 3CO2

Hope this will help u.

Have a nice day.
