it is called exo osmosis where the cell sap starts to move out and which lead to the shrinkage of cell. this happens to make both solutions equal.water moves from higher concentration to lower concentration (Osmosis),which happens inside of cell to out into solution.

bcoz the movement of water takes place from lower solute concentration to higher solute concentration I. e. from inside cell to outside the salt solution to attain equilibrium
