The main reasons for the faliure of the first independence struggle of 1857 were :

1. The struggle only took place in the northern part of India and only half of India took part in it .
2. Many Kings , Nizams , Begums and other rulers were in the favour of the British.
3. Britishers have modern weapons as compared to the Indian protesters.
