The gynoecium of a flower is also described using an alternative terminology wherein the structure one sees in the innermost whorl (consisting of an ovary, style and stigma) is called a pistil. A pistil may consist of a single carpel or a number of carpels fused together.

Typical flower have parts :The coloured part is called petal .all the petals taken together know as corolla.the base of the flower is called receptacle. Stamen is is male reproductive organ consist of anther and filament and anther contains pollan grains and it has female reproductive system called carpel it consists of stigma style and ovary it contains egg which fertilise with pollan grains.
