There are three zones of a flames. They are:
1. Outer zone :
- This zone looks blue in colour.
- In this zone complete combustion takes place.
- This zone is hotest zone of flame as other zones.
- This zone is also know as non luminous zone of flame.
2. Middle zone :
- This zone looks yellow in colour.
- In this zone partial combustion takes place.
- This zone is moderately hot.
- This zone is also known as luminous zone of flame.
3. Innermost zone :
- This zone looks black in colour.
- In this zone incomplete combustion takes place.
- This is coolest (or we can say least hot) zone of flame.
- This zone is also known as dark zone of flame.
About combustion!!
Combustion is a chemical process in which a substance reacts with oxygen to give heat energy.
All the substances that undergo in combustion are said to be combustible substances.
