There are 5 common types of arthritis. They are: osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, gout and lupus. Causes for each one are given below:Osteoarthritis: this is the most common form of arthritis and usually happens due to "wear and tear" of the bones. It happens when the joints are overused. It occurs with age. Rheumatoid Arthritis: This is an autoimmune disease. That is the immunity system attacks joints of the body leading to inflammation and pain. It can cause severe joint damage if overlooked.Psoriatic Arthritis: the inflammation of skin around the joints with patches, redness, scales are known as psoriatic arthritis. Gout: formation of uric acid crystals on a joint, it usually happens in the foot or toe. This is known as gout. Lupus: Doctors still do not know what causes lupus but it is an auto immune disease which can affect your joints and other organs of the body.
