Destruction of forests in various ways such as Deforestation, shifting agriculture, etc... lead to a very cozy and oxygen less environment. In this environment the carbon dioxide level raises rapidly and the oxygen to sustain or balance it becomes less and thus leads to global warming where the carbon dioxide traps the earth terrestrial radiation and raises the earth's heat..
Or in simpler words Destruction of forest directly lead to global warming

Destruction of forests leads to increased carbon dioxide in atmosphere which is a greenhouse gas and thus it traps the heat and the global temperature rises.
