Answer:

Standardiza a potentiometer using Weston standard cell.

Construct a cell using Pt electrode (connect it to the+ ve terminal of the potentiometer), calomel (- ve terminal of the potentiometer), using HCl solution as an electrolyte,add small amount of quinhydrone powder & measure the EMF.

calomel/ H2Q,Q,HCl/Pt. ( cell representation)

Repeat the 2nd step for HCl solutions of different concentrations.

Calculate pH using following expression

pH =( E(Q/ H2Q - Ecal - Ecell)/2.303RT/F
