4X²-8x+9=80
4X²-8x+9-80=0
4X²-8x-71=0
comparing with ax²+bx+c=0
we get ,
a=4. b=8. c=-71
∆=b²-4ac
=8²-4×4×-71
=64-16-71
=48-71
=-23
∆=-23
As ∆is smaller than zero,the root of the quadratic equation are not real
