hey mate

x-2=0

x=2

p(2)=2×2+2×2-3

4+4-3

=5

therefore (x-2) is not a factor of The polynomial

\huge\mathfrak\red{Question:}

Determine whether (x-2) is a factor of polynomial x^2 + 2x - 3 or not.

\huge\mathfrak\blue{Solution:}

x - 2 = 0
x = 2

p(x) = x^2 + 2x - 3

p(2) = (2)^2 + (2×2) - 3

p(2) = 4 + 4 - 3

p(2) = 8 - 3

p(2) = 5

Therefore, (x-2) isn't a factor of polynomial x^2 - 2x + 3.
