Different people (in this case, people of African countries) see development in different ways.

Going by class structure, the poor will see development when there is uninterrupted food and water supply to meet their basic needs. The low-income group will want to see other facilities such as affordable decent shelter, government medical facilities etc., over and above what the poor expect.

When it comes to the middle class, by development, they will be expecting other facilities like cheaper public transport and civic facilities etc. The rich will be looking at better trade and business environment, tax benefits and other such things.

Basically, the word ‘development’ would depend upon a person’s social class and circumstances.

Development can mean different things to different people. To answer this question, we have to see what extent of facilities are present in the African countries. As it is seen that African countries are far behind in the race of development from other countries. They lack certain basic facilities along with technological and infrastructural development.

So development in case of African countries would consist of changes in the business department, activation of basic necessities, enhancement and availability of educational, housing, food, water, electrical facilities among the common public. It also include technological and infrastructural development in addition to transport facilities in the country.

Thanks for asking.
