The question is not clear if the dialogue has to be in between one student and his parents or if it is in between a set of parents and a set of students. However, the concept can be applied to both the situations.
Student - Mom, Dad! We have an open house this Saturday morning at school. You both have to attend it.
Mom - Oh God! We have a function that day. Is it ok if we skip it?
Student - No Mom. Please. It is a rule that parents have to attend it. You people have to attend it and talk to my teachers. They will also tell you about my studies and everything else
Mom - But you are doing well in your studies. We are seeing the mark sheets. What else do we have to know?
Dad - We have to attend the open house. As parents, we are obliged to know our child's activities and performance even if we know he is doing well. I will definitely attend. Let's go together and then go to the function from there. I will inform the relatives that we will be late by an hour. The open house is more important.
Student - Thanks, Dad. I am glad you are making it in spite of your busy schedule.
Dad - It is my pleasure. It is my responsibility too.
Mom - Ok. So we will all go together and meet the teachers and get proper feedback from them.
Student - Thanks, Mom! Thanks, Dad!
