Diamond and Graphite both are crystalline allotrops of carbon.But diamond is brighter where as Graphite is darker .Why?

a diamond is a very big molecule of carbon atom and graphite crystal consists of layers of carbon atom due to this graphite appeared as dark in colure and diamond appeared shine in look
