Yes language plays a important role in human development.

A mode of

communication

A method of expression of thought, emotion and feeling

A means of understanding the heart of culture and tradition of any place

It is through language that most people get to know the history, war, main areas of concern and trigger of a locality , style and diction particular to a locality

It is a rich source of arts, literature , dance and drama. A chance for people to intermingle across the globe during conferences

However language is not the only medium of expression ! Sometimes rather most of the times love transcends boundaries of every kind including language and at those times silence is also a language !

Answer:

Language is a very important part of the development of children. Not only are extremely important cognitive skills developed; language also is key in the social development of children. Social and linguistic development begin long before humans are mentally developed enough to speak.
