●Merchnts nd industrialists made huge profits during the great deppression.
●They reacted against the colonial policies that restricted their inflow of goods or capital produce.
●They wanted :-• protection against foreign imports, ruppee Sterling foreign exchange ratio to discourage imports.
●To organise business interests...they formed IICC-Indian Industrial and Commercial Congress in 1920 and FICCI-Federation of Indian Chambers of commerce and Industries in 1927.
