• A chromosome is the most condensed structure of DNA molecule with protein ,while a gene is a locus on DNA.
• A chromosome is always composed of DNA ,while a gene can be composed of DNA or RNA .
• Mutation in chromosome leads to chromosomal abnormalities like duplication,deletion and rearrangement ,while the mutation in gene includes point mutation and frame shift mutation i.e, insertions and deletion.
