A simile is a figurative comparison between two things using "like" or "as".

A metaphor is also a figurative comparison between two things, but does not use "like" or "as"; the comparison is implied.

metaphor is the device with which there can be comparison BTW 2 without using like or as
and simile is device which give similarity BTW 2without use of like or as
