As cancer cells divide a lot, cancer cells are usually more sensitive to mitotic inhibitors. But the same is true for normal rapidly dividing cells. But not all cancers are sensitive ( and resistance can evolve) and not all mitotic inhibitors are used as anti cancer drugs. Colchicine and griseofulvin are mitotic inhibitors used in the treatment of gout and toenail fungus, respectively. There are many many anti cancer drugs that do not have the mode of action disrupting microtubules or spindles.
