difference between budding and regeneration​

budding means to generate from the any part of the plant .while regeneration means to separate the part of the plant and then grow anywhere.

BUDDING:

•A bob like structure projects out of the parent's body which further develops into an new individual

•The projection when develops into an adult maybe attached to the parent or get detached from the parent. If attached,they form colonies

•In unicellular organisms,the process is carried out by the whole cell while in multicellular organisms, specalised cells are reserved for this process

E.g., Hydra and Yeast

REGENERATION:

•Replacing a lost organ or giving rise to a completely new organism is known as Regeneration

•They don't form colonies

•This is due to the presence of reserve cells which have the capacity to de differentiate

E.g., Planaria
