Catkin.

1) Absence of Spathe.

2) Flowers remain unprotected.

3) They usually occur in hangings.

Spadix..

1) Presence of Spathe.

2) Basal tubular structure protect the flowers.

3) They occur in straight position.

6. Catkins usually occur in hanging position.
