Genomic DNA is obtained from all the cell components including nuclear DNA, cytosolic DNA & even mitochondria DNA. As the whole cell is lysed, all the genetic material is obtained as pooled. It is generally HMW - High molecular weight DNA.
Cell Free DNA : Often denoted as cfDNA , it is obtained from the circulating free in the blood stream. Often used as marker for cancer detection & studies. It is generally Low Molecular weight in nature.
