1. Both Chlorpheniramine and Diphenhydramine are from the first class of antihistamines....both good for allergies and both drowsy (Diphendydramine may be slightly more drowsy compared to the other). Go for second generation antihistamines which cause much less drowsiness. They are equally effective and usually long acting so you only need to take at most twice a day. These include Cetrizine (Zyrtec) and Loratidine (Clarityne) and can be purchased from the pharmacist.
2. Chlorpheniramine, an antihistamine, relieves red, itchy, watery eyes; sneezing; and runny nose caused by allergies, hay fever, and the common cold. It may also relieve the itching of insect bites, bee stings, poison ivy, and poison oak.
Diphenhydramine hydrochloride, trade name Benadryl

Chlorpheniramine maleate is an antihistamine which means it can be used to treat allergies. It can also be used to treat continuous sneezing, itching, nose rubbing etc.
Similarly, pheniramine maleate is also used to treat allergies and skin rashes. It can also be taken against a disorder of inner ear called Meniere’s disease
Both of the medicines are used for almost alike health issues and there has not been seen any prominent difference in the way they behave in body.
