Difference between common source common drain and common gate amplifier

This is the same as for a BJT. The devices have different parameters but the general function is the same in the linear region.
Common Source: The most used gain stage. Especially the differential version (diff pair) for many analog circuit.
~Can develop gain.~High input impedance.
~Inverting.
Common Drain: Buffer configuration. Source follower is another name for that reason (the source follows the gate).
~Near unity gain (some loss, but more loss with finer process nodes due to poor device gain)~High input impedance. (good for buffers)
~Low output impedance. (good for buffers)~Good linearity (relative to the other topologies at least)
~Non-inverting.
hope it helps
