corrosion is the slow destruction of metals by the action of air
rancidity is the degradation of fats by getting oxidised

CORRISION: - The slow destruction of metals by the action of moisture and air to the metals is called corrision.


WHILE



EG:- rusting of iron (FERRIC OXIDE) , green layer above copper (COPPER CARBONATE) etc..

 

RANCIDITY: - The degradation of fats and oils by getting oxidised or by the action of Oxygen upon them is called RANCIDITY

EG: - An unusual smell coming out of chips after their expiry, etc..
