Difference between dot matrix printer and laser printer?

A laser printer is much faster and still cheaper to operate than an inkjet , but cannot create carbon copies and the toner cartridges are expensive even if they last a long time.

A dot matrix printer works like a type writer in that it has a ribbon which is struck against the paper by a " hammer.
