EXTERNAL LINKS =  Links from other sites into yours can be called external links.

INTERNAL LINKS = Internal links only within your own specific website.

Difference between "internal and external links" :

Internal links:

The internal links are a type of "hyperlink" on a website to another resource or page, such as a document or an image, on the same webpage or domain.

External links:

The External links point from one domain to an entirely different domain. These links which are from one website to another webpage provide additional information or to an associate program, to the users. The External Links are the type of hyperlinks that point to the target domain except for the source domain where the link exists.
