Fertilisers the chemical substances added to the soil to provide the particular nutrient like phosphorus, nitrogen and potassium.

Difference between fertilisers and manure :-

Manure :-

2. Used in large quantities .

3. Provides a lot of humus to soil .

4. Prepared in fields .

5. Does not cause water pollution .

Fertilisers :-

1. A man made chemical substance rich in specific nutrients .

2. Used in small quantities.

3. Does not contain any humus .

4. Prepared in factories .

5. Causes water pollution as the groundwater table gets contaminated with the salt present in the fertilisers.
