SI unit if mass is kg while SI unit of weight is Newton. mass of an object can never be zero while weight of an object is can be zero. th

mass is the actual amount of material contained in a body and is measured in kg, gm, etc
weight is the force exerted by the gravity on that object mg.
 
mass is independent of everything but 
weight is different on the earth, moon, depending on various factors
