Miscible implies that liquids mix to form a homogeneous mixture in all proportions.Immiscible is defined as the opposite, they don't mix. Water is miscible in a variety of liquids, but immiscible in oil.

The substances which get dissolved into water are known as miscible substances.
eg: honey,milk,etc.
But the substances which don't get dissolved into the water are known as immiscible substances.
eg: kerosene oil, mustard oil,etc.
