vikram seth finds the environment in baudhnath stupa to be a calm and pleasant one whereas he describes the atmosphere of pasupathinath temple as a febrile one. people elbowed and pushed each other away to get closer to the priest at the pashupatinath temple. there were a huge diverse range of priests,foreigners,devotees and animals such as dogs,monkeys and cows inside the structure. while at the baudhnath stupa,there were not many people inside the structure and even through the noises from the busy streets surrounding the stupa,it stood still and calm
