Path function: Their magnitudes depend on the path followed during a process as well as the end states. Work (W), heat (Q) are path functions. Point Function: They depend on the state only, and not on how a system reaches that state. All properties are point functions.

Answer:
"A path function is dependent on not only the starting parameters and the ending parameters, but is also also dependent on the path the function takes to reach from the starting point to the ending point.
On the other hand, a point function is dependent on the state of the function only. The path taken by the system to complete it's actions does not affect a point function.
