Difference between propulsion and retropulsion:

Both represents movement of food from stomach and to stomach.

Propulsion:

  • The method of movement of food from stomach   into the pylorus is called as propulsion.
  • It is a positive reaction.
  • It doesn’t cause any harm to the digestion process.

Retropulsion:

  • The method of movement of food from the pylorus to stomach is called as retropulsion.
  • It is a negative reaction.
  • It causes severe problem called as acidity.
