.)Rayon is a regenerated cellulosic fiber where as nylon is a man-made /synthetic fiber.

.)Rayon breaks or melts at or above 150°C where as nylon melts at or above 220°C.

.)Viscose Rayon is soluble in 60% sulphuric acid where as nylon dissolves in HCL or formic acid.

.)Nylon has high wet and dry strength than rayon.

.)Raw material of rayon is a cellulose that is basically a wood pulp from different trees like spurce etc and nylon’s monomers are nylon-6 {caprolactum},nylon-6,6{adipoyl chloride + hexamethylene diamine}.

.)Variants of rayon according to its different manufacturing processes & properties are viscose, modal, tencel and variants of nylon are nylon-6,nylon-6,6 etc

.)Rayon is more absorbent than nylon.

.)Nylon fabric is more dimensionally stable than rayon.

.)Microscopic structure of rayon and nylon is different.

.)Rayon is used in graments ,home textiles (basically soft fabrics ) where as nylon is used in high performance athletic garments, carpets, heavy duty curtains.(where high strength is required)
