a image that can be produced on a screen is referred to as a real image.
WHEREAS
a image that can be seen only in a mirror but not on a screen is referred to as virtual image.

Differences :


⇒ A real image is formed due to actual intersection of the light rays.

⇒ A virtual image is formed when the light ray is produced backwards and not actually meeting.


⇒ A real image is always inverted .

⇒ A virtual image is always erect.


⇒ A real image cannot be formed in a concave lens.

⇒ A virtual image can be formed in a concave lens.
