Rods respond in dim light. It detects light, shape, movement but not Colour
Cones work best in bright light. It detects colour, but less sensitive to light than rods

There are two types of photoreceptor cells , namely rods and cones.
These cells present in the layerof Retina .
Rods contain purplish red protein called Rhopsin. a derivative of vitamin A.
Cons contain protein called Iodopsin.
