What is Colloidal Solution ?

Colloidal solutions, or colloidal suspensions, are nothing but a mixture in which the substances are regularly suspended in a fluid .

Some examples are given below

  • Jelly
  • Ketchup
  • Muddy water
  • Mayonnaise

Difference between both

  • In Colloidal Solution the solute (tiny particles or colloids) is uniformly distributed in the solvent in liquid phase.

  • In Suspension solute does not get dissolved, rather get suspended in the liquid and float freely in the medium.
