In other words, Democracy is a system of government by the whole population or all eligible members of the state, typically through elected representatives while dictatorship is a form of government where a country otr a group of countries is ruled by one person or political entity, and exercised through various mechanisms to ensure the entity's power remains strong

Democracy is a form of government in which the people govern themselves,either directly or through representatives.
In a dictatorship,the power to rule rests with one person or a small group of people. Such power is obtained forcibly.
