Answer:

The input coupling capacitor couples the input signal to the input of the amplifier and the output coupling capacitor at the output couples the output signal to the load or to the next circuit or device. The capacitors are used to ensure only AC signals are coupled in both cases and the DC voltages are not disturbed.
