Ethylene and abscisic acid are two phytohormones which show negative effect on growth of the plant. But they are very useful for plants in other ways.

Here is your answer..............

Ethylene is a plant hormone which is synthesised by the plant tissues which undergo senescence and ripening of fruits. High concentration of auxin induces formation of ethylene.

Abscisic acid acts as a stress hormone as it induces closure of stomata to prevent water loss during unfavourable environmental conditions. Abscisic acid acts against the action of auxin such that it inhibits cell division and retards growth. Abscisic acid induces falling of leaves, flowers and fruits. Abscisic acid induces dormancy in seeds under unfavourable climatic conditions.
