Cells have been divided into two parts:
- Prokaryotic cells
- Eukaryotic cells
1) Prokaryotic cells:
The cells that lack a well-organised nucleus due to non-attendance of nuclear membrane are named as prokaryotic cells. The organisms that are connected with these cells are known as prokaryotes.
- Example: Bacteria, blue-green algae
2) Eukaryotic cells:
The cells that comprise of a well-organised nucleus with nuclear membrane are named as eukaryotic cells. All organisms are eukaryotes other than blue-green algae and bacteria that are prokaryotes.
- Example: Human beings, protozoa etc.
