Puberty - Puberty refers to the physical transition acquired during teenage. It generally begins at 11 years of age in females and 12 years of age in males.It can begin and end independently of adolescence.It is described in physiological terms like the growth of pubic hairs, hoarseness of voice in males, muscular growth, development of breasts, development of sweat and sebaceous glands, etc.It is acquired with the help of hormones like testosterone in males and estrogen in females.

Adolscence the word derived from latin adolscere, meaning to grow up, is a transitional stage of physical and psychological human development that generally occurs during the the duration of puberty. The period of adolscence is most closely associate with the teenage years, though its physical, psychological and cultural expression may begin earlier & end later.  

2. Puberty refers to normal body changes that lead to maturity & the ability to have children. Normal puberty begins between age 08 to 12 in girls & between 09 & 14 in boys. Hormones made in brain control the timing & sequence of puberty. The physical changes in puberty are labelled as Tanner's staging. Stage 1 is like child & stage 5 is full maturity.
