✏ Evaporation is a process that takes place spontaneously at all temperature.

✏ Evaporation takes place only at the surface of the liquid. It is a surface phenomenon. When the molecules of liquid at the surface collides with surrounding air molecules, they gain energy and vaporise.

✏ Evaporation means liquid molecules at surface vaporises, so they take away the heat from the container along with them. Hence, it causes cooling.

It is a fast process.
