Differentiate between plant cell and animal cell in a tabular form .
Answers
Plant Cell :-
The outermost covering of the plant cell is the cell wall which is formed of cellulose.
Plastids (chloroplast) present.
Large vacuole present.
Centrioles are absent but polar caps are present.
Golgi apparatus is in the form of sub units called dictyosomes.
Animal Cell :-
The outermost covering is the plasma membrane.
Plastids absent.
No or small vacuoles are present.
Centrioles are present within centrosome.
Prominent and highly complex Golgi apparatus is present near nucleus.
Question :
Differentiate between plant cell & animal cell .
Answer :
Plant Cells:
(i)They have a definite cell wall which is made up of cellulose.
(ii)Centrosome is not present in plant cell.
(iii)They have vaculoes covered by tonoplast which are concerned with excretion or secretion.
(iv)They contain plastids.
(v)The cytoplasm in a plant cell is not so dense.
Animal Cells:
(i)They have no cell wall.
(ii)Centrosome is present in an animal cell.
(iii)Animal cells generally don't have vaculoes but some cells do have vaculoes but they are small and temporary.
(iv)They do not contain plastids.
(v)The cytoplasm in an animal cell is denser and more granular.
